When Selphie Tilmitt returned from Econtra, she was changed from the girl her friends knew her as. She was ever the same bubbly bundle of fun, but tempered with an air of maturity and determination as a result of her time in a war camp. She also returned very much smitten with one of her fellows from the compound. She went on to help her comrades defeat Ultimecia, and while she remained best friends with the sniper Kinneas, their relationship never blossomed beyond that. Instead, she spent time doing research with Doc Odine and created a machine which allowed the use of para-magic without the need for GF's. Armed with her invention, she returned to Trabia Garden, determined to rebuild it.

Two years later, her sweetheart from the compound, Nocturne, showed up at Trabia Garden. She was delighted, but her best friend Irvine was ready to shoot the interloper. As a method of appeasement, they offered to name their first boy after the gunslinger.

And thus, Allemande Irvine Kanalui became the eldest of the five Kanalui children to terrorize Trabia Garden. Except he was the quiet, introspective soul who would rather spend time playing music than socializing. A year after he was born, his sister Capella was born, and she was as loud and spastic as their mother. Two more sisters followed after that, driving the boy crazy being overwhelmed by sisters. With a lot of pushing encouraging by his mother, he joined Trabia Garden as a student at age 10, despite his disinterest in becoming a fighter of any sort. At 12, his little brother Forte was born, adding another very loud soul to the family.

Now at 17, he's become a capable fighter and a handsome young man, although he seems to be completely unaware of the interest of the girls around him. Still more interested in music than military matters, he dreams of getting away from the snowbound Trabia and going to some warm beach where it's quiet and free from the sisterly antics. To make that dream a reality, he has just applied for a transfer to Balamb Garden to take the SeeD field exam.
